Before Robert the Bruce was William Wallace. Known as the Guardian of Scotland William was one of the main leaders during the First War of Scottish Independence and was immortalised beyond his homeland in the Academy Award-winning film Braveheart. He was captured during battle and was hanged, drawn and quartered for high treason by King Edward I of England. This figurine shows William standing valiantly. Wearing a conical helmet, full body chain mail, with a heavy tunic and cape. In his left hand he holds a bastard sword, in his right hand he a holds a heater shield. The silver figurine has gold detailing on the conical, lapel pin, tunic, shield and sword hilt. Cast in the finest resin before being carefully hand painted this commemorative figurine will make the perfect addition to any medieval collection.
